Georgia’s capital market is entering another important stage of technological evolution. By the end of the year, the Tbilisi Stock Exchange (TSE) plans to launch a modern REST API infrastructure that will enable brokerage companies to integrate exchange functionality directly into their mobile and web applications, providing retail investors with direct, fast, and secure access to the trading system.

This initiative represents a fundamental step toward democratizing the market and increasing retail investor participation, making the trading process as simple, digital, and accessible as possible.

What capabilities will the REST API bring to brokerage applications?

  • Direct trading through brokerage applications: Retail investors will be able to place, modify, or cancel trading orders directly through their broker’s mobile or web platform.
  • Real-time market data: Users of brokerage applications will gain access to real-time market data feeds, current prices, and trading history.
  • Portfolio and order status management: Investors will be able to monitor order execution status and track the performance of their portfolios in real time through their brokerage accounts.
  • High security and international standards: The REST API architecture is being developed in full compliance with global security standards and modern authentication protocols.

An Open Market and a Digital Future

“Our goal is to make the Tbilisi Stock Exchange as open, flexible, and accessible as possible for every retail investor. The introduction of the REST API removes technological barriers between the exchange and brokerage systems. By the end of the year, we will have an infrastructure that will allow investors to carry out a full range of trading operations on the exchange directly through their broker’s application,” the management of the Tbilisi Stock Exchange stated.

REST API technical documentation and a testing environment (Sandbox) will gradually be made available to brokerage companies.
